Pine Cobble School has a long and proud history of making independent education more affordable for a widely diverse community. Since tuition does not cover the total cost of Pine Cobble education, all families receive some support from the school through the operating budget, endowment and annual campaign funds.
Additionally, we give large amounts of financial aid support each year. In any given year, at least one-third of Pine Cobble students receive tuition assistance. Grants are need-based, and vary from several hundred dollars to significantly more. Below is the tuition schedule for the 2011-2012 school year.
Tuition for beginners and pre-kindergarten includes extended day care until 5:00pm.

Financial Aid Process:
In recent years, financial aid has exceeded $250,000, and has been distributed to at least 30% of our students. Although all admission decisions are made independently of financial aid decisions, parents should apply for aid online at: www.sss.nais.org as early as possible, and submit their most recent tax return to the school. Returning families’ requests are processed first, then new families are considered on a first come, first served basis. All decisions are based on need, and it is necessary to apply for aid each year it is needed.
Hunter Family Scholarships:
For the first time in the school’s 74-year history, Pine Cobble School offers an endowed need-based scholarship, the Hunter Family Scholarship, made possible by an endowment gift from the estate of Irene M. and James H. Hunter. The Hunter Family Scholarship is open to qualifying new students entering grades 4-9; it covers at least 90% of tuition (excluding activity fees) for as long as the student remains in good standing. PLEASE INQUIRE ABOUT AVAILABILITY OF THESE SLOTS.
