Art

Art for the Early Childhood program is designed as an exploration of materials and methods of creating art. Students are encouraged to be involved at whatever level they are comfortable, using familiar and unfamiliar materials in our creations.

  • We create pots and snakes by pinching and rolling clay
  • We create textures by rubbing crayons over the inside and outside surface of objects
  • We use our feet, potatoes and leaves to make prints
  • We learn to cut and collage a variety of materials
  • We learn to dye and watch as colors are absorbed by thirsty materials
  • We blow paint with straws
  • We paint the snow
  • We learn about new materials: ink, roller, scratch art and glazes
  • We make sculptures of wood Styrofoam
  • We are about process not products.
