French

In the Early Childhood French program, the emphasis is on aural skills and encouraging oral participation. Students become more familiar with the use of another language through activities and hands – on play and practice. Simple salutations and word games are key components to the Early Childhood French class. Students follow instructions for gross motor and rhythm activities – including jump, run, dance, turn, give, take, open, and close. To help give deeper meaning to words, touchable items such as colored silks squares, felt wool balls, wooden cars and trucks, and finger puppets are used in illustrating vocabulary and concepts.
