Music
The music curriculum at Pine Cobble is designed to integrate all aspects of the whole child through movement, singing and creating music. Students learn many songs and vocal techniques including two part singing. The singing culminates in an annual Winter Concert each December. Students also learn to read music and rhythmic notation by learning patterns that can be performed on age appropriate percussion and Orff instruments. They continue to develop music theory, ear training, and a sense of musicianship by participating in the keyboard lab. All students learn to play the keyboard beginning in the first grade. In addition, various musical styles, significant pieces and their composers are introduced and studied. The music program at Pine Cobble is built on the basic foundation of music theory, music appreciation and a strong sense of musicianship.
