English students in the Upper School perfect their skills in writing, listening, reading, thinking, and speaking. Students improve their communications skills through mastering the fundamentals of grammar and the art of editing and revising their work. Literature is an integral part of every English class. Through reading and analyzing poetry, short stories, novels, and plays, students learn and understand important literary terms, themes, and styles, and develop a lifelong love of the written word.
