Boys' Lacrosse
Lacrosse began at Pine Cobble in the 80’s when the sport was relatively unknown in Western Massachusetts. Now it is a booming sport and we are able to have an eight to ten game schedule each year with teams from surrounding states. Along with this full schedule, we host an eight team tournament each spring, which has become a tradition in the area since the first one in the early 90’s. The fastest game on two feet is a popular one with our students, and size plays an important role in a student’s placement on a varsity or junior varsity team. Most often our 6th and 7th graders are on our junior varsity team and our 8th and 9th graders are on our varsity team. Our 9th graders serve as captains and role models for the younger players. The coaches of our two teams are usually faculty members who dedicate long hours to our students and serve as positive.
