Science
The theme of sixth grade science is inquiry. Students are encouraged to ask questions, create hypotheses, design experiments to test them, and draw conclusions from the result. A highlight of the sixth grade year is participation in the Kids Inquiry Conference, an annual event that brings students from area schools together o present their findings and learn what others are doing. The theme of hands-on inquiry based learning is carried throughout the curriculum as seventh grade students learn about the natural forces surrounding the earth, eighth graders learn about the physical laws with an introduction to chemistry, with the ninth graders seeing the culmination of the curriculum in a rigorous, in-depth and hand-on Biology class.
